Man shot in his back in the Avondale neighborhood.
That shooting happened near the intersection of Belmont and Lawndale avenues. Preliminary reports stated the man, described as in his 30s, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital.

23 year old shot
About 2:30 this morning, a 23-year-old man was shot in the 2800 block of North Kildare Avenue while driving his car on the Northwest Side. Another car pulled alongside and a man fired shots into the victim's vehicle, shattering the glass and leaving the man with a gunshot wound to the arm and lacerations from the flying glass. Three passengers — a 16-year-old female, an 18-year-old female, and a 24-year-old male were also injured by the flying glass.
