2 men shot on West Side

Three men got into an argument about 5:30 a.m. today in the 5100 block of West Monroe Street in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other two, police said. Both victims were taken to Loretto Hospital. One, 39, was in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the leg; the other, 27, was in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Friend drives 2 to hospital after shooting

Two males were shot--one critically--in the South Austin neighborhood late Saturday, police said.
At 10:24 p.m., two males were sitting in a vehicle in the 300 block of South Cicero Avenue when attackers approached and fired shots, striking them, according to police.
A friend of the two victims was inside a store when he heard shots. He came outside to find his friends shot and drove them to Rush University Medical Center, police said.

One male suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and was listed in critical condition, police said. A second male was shot multiple times but listed in stable condition.
No one was in custody and Harrison Area detectives were investigating.

Man shot in hand

A male victim was shot in his hand about 11:30 p.m. on the 4900 block of

West Quincy Street

on the city's West Side, police said.
The victim was taken to Loretto Hospital by a friend. The circumstances behind the shooting were unknown, police said.

Man Shot and Killed in South Austin

Cedrick Allen of the 20100 block of Arroyo in south suburban Lynwood was shot in the South Austin neighborhood, officials said. Allen, 44, was shot multiple times about 5:39 a.m. on the 300 block of South Lavergne Avenue, according to police and the medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at 6:15 a.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office.

At 1:43 a.m. in the South Austin neighborhood, a 20-year-old man was shot in the abdomen in the 4900 block of

West Quincy Street

. The man was initially taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, but was transferred to Stroger, a release said.
