Woman dies when vehicle hits her as she was loading car trunk

A Brighton Park woman died Wednesday after a car hit her as she loaded something into the trunk of her own car near her home.
Tina Ramirez, 40, of the 4500 block of South Spaulding Avenue, was declared dead at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital following the accident.
She died from multiple injuries in the accident, the medical examiner’s office ruled today.
Ramirez was standing, putting something into the trunk of her parked car about 1:10 p.m. in the 4400 block of South Christiana Avenue when another car veered out of traffic and hit her, pinning her between the cars.
The other driver was cited for failure to reduce speed and failure to take due care of a pedestrian.
