Sketch released for suspect in attack on teen girl in Gresham neighborhood

Police today released a sketch for a suspect who robbed and tried to kidnap a 14-year-old girl recently at a bus stop in the Gresham neighborhood.
The man, driving a blue vehicle, approached the girl about 7:05 a.m. on Sept. 8 as she stood at a CTA bus stop at 8401 S. Ashland Ave. and demanded her jacket, police said in a news release providing the sketch
As she began to give the robber her jacket he grabbed her backpack and tried to drag the girl into the vehicle. She was able to run from the robber, who fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.
The police alert describes the suspect as a black man about 40, 6-foot-2 and 180-200 pounds, with a dark complexion, full beard and mustache. He had an African or Jamaican accent, and the only vehicle description stated it was blue
