A pair of recent armed robberies in West Side beauty salons prompted Chicago police to put out an alert today.
In both robberies, the suspect entered a beauty salon and displayed a handgun while demanding cash, then fled the area on foot, according to police.
The first robbery took place Saturday on the 2400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, and the second took place Monday on the 3000 block of South Pulaski Road, police said in the alert.
The alert describes the suspect as a black Hispanic man, possibly of Puerto Rican descent, about 28-35 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot, with a very thin build and a weight of about 170-185 pounds.
