Chicago police have issued an alert warning businesses about three armed robberies on the Northwest Side in July and August.
The robberies were at small restaurants like Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts located in strip malls.
Police describe the robber in each case as a black man, 25 to 35 years old, 5-foot-7 to 6-foot tall, weighing 170 to 220 pounds with black hair, a dark complexion, and wearing a black White Sox hat and white-rimmed sunglasses.
In each instance, the robber has gone into the restaurant with a handgun and demanded money.
The first robbery occurred at about 7:25 p.m. July 6 in the 4700 block of West Fullerton Avenue in the Hermosa neighborhood. The other robberies were at about 2:40 p.m. July 19 in the 300 block of West Foster Avenue in the North Park neighborhood, and about 3:15 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 5600 block of West Fullerton Avenue in the Belmont Central neighborhood.
