South Side detectives today released a sketch of a man who raped a woman after asking to use her cell phone while they walked in Englewood on Sunday.
The woman, 21, was in the 6800 block of South Perry Avenue about 8:50 p.m. when the man forced her into an alley and sexually assaulted her.
The woman was walking on Perry Avenue who the man came up to her, started to talk to her, and then asked to use her cell phone, according to the alert. The man then took out a handgun and forced the woman into a nearby alley.
The man fled west on 69th Street after the attack.
Police released both a sketch and a description of the attacker.
The attacker was described as a black man, between 40 and 55 years old, standing between 6 feet and 6-foot-3, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds, and with a dark complexion. He is bald, but had an unshaven face with a partially gray beard, and had a scar on the top left of his head.
When last seen, the man was wearing a multicolored t-shirt with red-and-white stripes, black pants and brown boots.
