A knife-wielding man walked into a Gage Park neighborhood Walgreens this morning and stabbed three people before he was arrested by police.
The man, in his 20s, entered the store in the 5500 block of South Kedzie Avenue at about 1 a.m. He then stabbed two women and a man.
"He walked in, he looked normal," said a store worker, Manuel Rodriguez. "But he had a butcher knife."
Tactical officers from a neighboring police district arrested the attacker after they saw several people running out of the store, .
One of the woman was stabbed in the breast, while the second was stabbed in the abdomen, thigh and arms, Greer said. The third victim suffered a wound to the hand.
The motive for the attack was unclear. It didn't appear that the attacker knew his victims.
UPDATE:
Daniel Lopez, of the 5100 block of South Spaulding Avenue, was charged late Tuesday with two counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated battery.
