Man shot in South Shore neighborhood

A man in his 20s was seriously wounded in a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood this morning.
The man was shot multiple times in an attack in the 1700 block of East 72nd Street about 9:39 a.m.
The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious-to-critical condition.

The man was identified this evening as Jermaine Smith, 18, who lived on the block.
