Friday is the last day for Chicago auto owners to buy 2011-12 city stickers, the Chicago city clerk’s office said this afternoon.
Motorists who buy a sticker after July 15 will face a $40 late fee, and those cars spotted without a current sticker could result in a $120 fine for the registered ownerPassenger vehicle stickers cost $75 and those for larger passenger vehicles are $120. Senior citizens 65 and above are eligible to buy one sticker for $30. Annual residential zone parking is $25 and residential zone daily guest passes are $8 for a book of 15 passes, according to the clerk’s office.
“To purchase a city sticker, residents must bring their driver’s license or renewal form and know their vehicle license plate number. There are more than 400 city sticker sale locations in the city, including currency exchanges, Dominick’s grocery stores, City Clerk and Department of Revenue offices. In addition, the City Clerk’s office is hosting its final Aldermanic City Sticker Ward Sales on July 15. Those sales are at Alderman Mitts’ office at 5344 W. North Ave. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Alderman Mell’s office at 3649 N. Kedzie Ave. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.”
