The man was identified as Lazaro Enriquez of the 3000 block of South Kostner Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The incident happened in the 3000 block of South Kolin Avenue at about 10:40 a.m., said Chicago Police Officer Veejay Zala. Enriquez was walking in the area when a car approached and an occupant said something to him.
There was a verbal exchange and then someone in the car pulled a gun and shot Enriquez, Zala said. The vehicle then drove off.
