At least three people were wounded in two shootings this afternoon and evening on Chicago’s Northwest Side, authorities said.
Two teens -- one a man, 19, the other a boy, 17 -- were shot on the 2300 block of North Marmora Avenue in the city’s Belmont Central neighborhood about 6:40 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Phillip Armstrong.
The 19-year-old was shot in the arm and leg and the 17-year-old was shot in the arm, he said.
One victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the other to Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center, both in serious-to-critical condition, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado.
Just before the shooting, the gunman asked the victims "What you about?" referring to the victims' gang affiliation, police said. It wasn't clear whether either victim was a member of a gang.
