Police are questioning someone after a mother, father and son were critically injured by a hit-and-run driver in the West Rogers Park neighborhood.
The three were crossing Devon Avenue near Campbell Avenue, just west of Western Avenue, when they were hit around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Monday evening they were questioning a "person of interest."
The car, believed to be a black Toyota Avalon, sped off and turned the wrong way down Maplewood Avenue and hit a Honda van. The driver of the van was not injured.
The father and son, 68 and 28, were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the woman, 71, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. All were in critical condition.
Their son, Faaiz Biabani, said his mother suffered a broken pelvic bone and will require knee reconstruction. His father suffered broken vertebrae and a broken foot, and his brother has a broken collarbone. All are expected to recover.
The three were visiting in the area and were about to get into their car when they were struck

HAPPY KWANZA :-)
The injured included an ELDERLY COUPLE and their adult son. Sounds like a middle eastern name. I can guarantee you they aren't BLACK. The demographic odds would be ONE IN A BILLION!!!! How many black couples achieve ELDER status with a functioning ADULT son to boot....and to top it off in the city of CHICAGO?!?!?!? The mind boggles! Haleys comet is a more common sight!!! My sympathy to the injured and god speed. May you recover fully. As for the CHINA MAN driver may you boil in oil!!
Vaya con dios.....Miguel Cortes
