Jose Barriga, 18, of the 2400 block of North Mango Avenue, Sergio Mayim, 22, of the 2500 block of North Mango Avenue, and Matthew Andras, 25, of the 2200 block of North Menard Avenue, are all charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and home invasion.
The crime happened about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2700 block of North Mango in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side. The three men forced their way into the victim's home to commit a robbery, police said; during the robbery, one fired a handgun at the victim, a 46-year-old man who was transported in serious condition to Adventist Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The three fled before police arrived, but, after getting and broadcasting a description of the men and the vehicle they were in, officers searching the area found the vehicle with two of the men inside, police said. The third man was found at his home
