An Englewood man has died three years after he was shot in the head near his home, authorities said.
Alfred Wilson was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. today at St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Police and public records indicate Wilson was 53.
Wilson was found on a sidewalk near his home in the 7100 block of South May St. about 7:10 p.m. on June 5, 2010, according to police. He had been shot in the back of the head.
Police were called to the scene after people in the area saw someone on the ground who had been shot, said Chicago Police News Afffairs Officer Jose Estrada.
Witnesses told police they heard one shot and heard someone screaming before going outside and finding the victim shot on the sidewalk
