Man dies after beating in South Shore in December

A man has died nearly two months after he was beaten by a group of people and hit over the head with a bottle.
Steven Cannon, 29, of the 5800 block of South King Drive, was pronounced dead about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at RML Specialty Hospital.
Police had responded to a battery call at a house in the 7200 block of South Bennett Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood about 3:15 a.m. on Dec. 22.
Responding officers found Cannon unresponsive and he was taken to Stroger Hospital.
