Man impersonated officer, sexually assaulted woman on West Side

Police issued a community alert this afternoon warning of a man who impersonated a police officer and forced a woman inside a car on the West Side where he sexually assaulted her.
The assault happened Oct. 20. The 36-year-old woman was waiting at a bus stop about 6 a.m. on the 1800 block of North Cicero Avenue in the North Austin neighborhood.
The man approached the woman and identified himself as a police officer, then forced her into his vehicle.
The man drove the woman to Cicero Avenue and 15th Street, where he sexually assaulted her. The woman was released by the man after the assault.
Police described the man as white Hispanic, between the ages of 30 to 34, with black hair. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a heavyset build.
The man was last seen wearing a green polo shirt, a black sweatshirt with a zipper, light gray cargo pants and black shoes.
