Teen seriously wounded in Gage Park shooting

A 16-year-old boy was seriously wounded this afternoon in a shooting on the South Side in the city's Gage Park neighborhood.
The shooting happened shortly after 3 p.m. on the 5800 block of South Whipple Street.
Preliminary reports said the teen was walking down the street when he was shot in the abdomen. He was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
