One dead, one injured in Avondale stabbing

Two men were stabbed and one later died from his wounds in the Avondale neighborhood Saturday.
The two were approached by more than one person about 3:45 a.m. Saturday on the 4000 block of West Melrose Street -- about a block from the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Pulaski Road -- and then stabbed.
A 24-year-old man is listed in critical condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and the other, also 24 years old, died about 4 p.m. Saturday.
