Officials: Man killed in West Lawn arson fire

The death of a man who died in a "suspicious" apartment fire this morning was ruled a homicide after an autopsy revealed he died of carbon monoxide poison and smoke inhalation due to arson.
The man was found in a second-floor apartment in a building on the 4200 block of West 63rd Street and was transported to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was declared dead.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the man as James Moca. He was pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital at 5:15 a.m..
Fire officials were called to the scene about 4:40 a.m. According to the department's Twitter feed, the Office of Fire Investigation determined this morning that the fire was "suspicious" and has turned the case over to the Chicago Police Department The Police Bomb and Arson Section was investigating.
The building that caught fire houses businesses on the first floor and two apartments -- one in the front and one in the rear -- on the second floor.
Moca was found in the front apartment and the fire started in the rear apartment.
Moca was 60 years old, according to the Fire Department and the medical examiner's office; earlier reports gave his age as 51. He was at the apartment window calling for help, according to the feed; he was later found near the apartment door.
