Man fatally shot in Gresham neighborhood

A young man was killed in a shooting late Tuesday in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.
The 18-year-old victim was shot in the chest and wrist at about 11:45 p.m. in the 8400 block of South Peoria Street.
The shooting took place outside a residence. The victim had stayed outside, while several other people had gone in. After hearing several gunshots, the people inside came out to find the man wounded.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
