4 charged, including victim, after drug-related home invasion


Three men who forced their way into a Lakeview home at gunpoint were arrested and one of the six victims was behind bars, as well, after a drug-related home invasion Sunday night.
At about 10:15 p.m., three masked men rang the doorbell of a home in the 3200 block of North Kenmore Avenue and when someone answered the door, they forced their way inside.
"Where’s the weed?" they asked as they ordered the two women and four men inside to the floor at gunpointand demanding jewelry. One of the victims was struck on the head with a gun.
But someone called 911, bringing officers to the home and prompting one of the home invaders to jump out a window and flee through an alley while the two others hid upstairs in a closet.
Officers chased down the fleeing suspect identifified as Juan Terrazas, 23, of the 8900 block of Robin Drive in Des Plaines. He was arrested in the 3200 block of North Sheffield Avenue.
Darius Franklin, 22, of the 8600 block of Trumbull Avenue in Skokie and Jason Street, 33, of the 900 block of North Waller Avenue on the West Side were also arrested.
All three men have been charged with one count of each of armed home invasion, a Class X felony.
A resident of the home, Nick Patel, 20, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police found 300 grams of cannabis in the home worth about $4,800
