UPDATE: The man, Christian Peggs of the 6900 block of South Indiana Avenue was pronounced dead at, a 3:55 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

This was such a sad an unfortunate incident. I was listening to my police scanner that night and I had my digital recorder going, so I have a recording of the whole thing. They never mentioned anything on the air about his passing, but apparently a tow driver nearby saw 3 suspects running from 71st and State eastbound and were armed. I hope the cops get the scum who did this, the kid that died was so young, so full of promise...
