A 55-year-old woman died today after the motor scooter she was driving was struck by a minivan in the West Rogers Park neighborhood.
Donatella Majore of the 7300 block of North Ridge Avenue was pronounced dead at 2:25 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston,
Majore was riding her scooter southbound on Western Avenue when she was struck by a Ford Windstar van on the 6800 block of North Western Avenue. The accident happened at the intersection of Western Avenue as the van was making a left turn onto Pratt Avenue at 10:30 a.m. and the van struck the scooter which caused Majore to land on the pavement.
The driver of the van, Aisha Issa, 31, of the 5000 block of North Harding Avenue, was issued two traffic citations. Issa was issued a citation for failure to yield to a vehicle and a second citation for failing to produce a driver's license.
