Man, 87, critically injured in NW side hit-and-run accident

An 87-year-old man was in critical condition after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood.
The accident happened at 3:50 p.m. in the 4400 block of West Fullerton Avenue
The man was struck by a green Jeep Cherokee which then fled to a gas station on the 2400 block of North Kostner Avenue, said Baety. The driver of the Jeep jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police were searching for the driver, who was described as a Hispanic man with a dark complexion, about 6-feet-tall, and who was described as heavy set.
