An autopsy is scheduled for today for an 88-year-old South Side grandfather who died after his car slammed into a light pole in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.
Killed was Curtis Deloney, of the 700 block of East 43rd Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police said that Deloney was attempting to drive out into traffic from a gas station in the 7100 block of South Halsted Street at about noon Monday when he crashed into a nearby light pole in trying to avoid another motorist.
