A woman was reported dead and two other people critically injured Thursday night after their car crashed into a tree in the Hyde Park neighborhood on the South Side.
Chicago firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene about 11:30 p.m. near Midway Plaisance and Cornell Drive, said fire spokesman Larry Langford.
There they found a car smashed into a tree with a man and a woman trapped inside, he said. Another woman, described as in her 20s, was ejected and found about 25 feet from the vehicle lying on the grass, Langford said. She was taken to Northwestesrn Memorial Hospital and reportedly was dead on arrival.
