Cops: Missing 94-year-old has Alzheimer's

A 94-year-old man missing since Monday is hearing impaired and suffers from Alzheimer's disease, police said today when asking the public's help in finding the man.

William Wheatley lives on the 8000 block of South Dorchester Avenue and was last seen Monday leaving a bank on the 200 block of North Michigan Avenue after withdrawing money, police said in a missing person alert.

    The alert describes Wheatley as black, 5-foot-4, 140 pounds with brown eyes and a light complexion. His gray hair usually is worn in a small ponytail. Police said he has Alzheimer's diseases and is hearing impaired, and the only hearing aid he has with him has a dead battery. He walks with a hunched over upper back and neck. No clothing description was provided. Anyone with information is asked to call the Calumet Area
