Police warn of robberies near Douglas Park

A series of recent armed robberies near Douglas Park on the West Side prompted Chicago Police to issue a community alert.
The robberies took place when the victims were in or near the south end of Douglas Park, in the 2800-2900 blocks of West Ogden Avenue.
The robberies took place Aug. 2 at about 8:15 p.m., Aug. 6 at 9 p.m. and Aug. 8 at 2 a.m..
One or more robbers approached the victims, displayed handguns and took belongings.
The descriptions of the robbers were varied but in general depicted one to four men about 24-40, 5-foot-5 to 6-foot tall and 160 to 220 pounds. One robber in one attack had a bald hair style
