29-year-old man was shot in Brighton Park

A  29-year-old man was shot in the Brighton Park neighborhood about 3:40 p.m.. He was standing in the 4400 block of South Maplewood Avenue when someone started running toward him with a pistol. The 29-year-old tried to run but the shooter got close, shot him, and then took off running. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious but stable condition
