Man shot during attempted carjacking on South Side

A 55-year-old man was shot this evening during an attempted carjacking on the South Side in the city's Chatham neighborhood.
At about 6 p.m., the victim was shot on the 7900 block of South Ingleside Avenue. The shooting happened while someone was trying to take the man's car.
The victim was shot in his hand, arm and thigh and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital
