A 24-year-old man was fatally wounded this afternoon in a shooting on the South
Side in the city's South Shore neighborhood.
About 3:45 p.m., the victim was walking on the 1900 block of East 79th Street
when a group of males jumped out a vehicle and shot him.
The gunmen fled the scene on foot.
The victim was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He later died from his injuries

ReplyDeleteMone was an associate of my son's, he has eaten at our home and was just one of the guys. If none of the others learn from this by being up there and just standing around on Jeffery then this can and most likely will happen to you. Some of the others are locked up and are going to get another chance to do it right but once you are dead it is over. Please seize the opportunity to do something better with yourselves. if you don't know where to begin, ask someone for help. Don't be afraid help is available, it may be scary to step outside of the box at first but try it for yourself and see how far you can go. I pray for our children everyday even mine because he still likes to hang up there on 79th looking unsuccessful and seemingly up to no good, but once I have given him the tools to do better and am being an example of it then it is up to him to choose life or death. God Bless the children that are lost please give them guidance and strength to walk away and please comfort the parents of those that have lost children in this unholy war in our communities.
