Man charged with April slaying in Lawndale neighborhood

A man has been charged with the April slaying of a 23-year-old man in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
Dandre Lofton, 26 of the 3700 block of West Polk Street was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of armed robber.
Darryl Davidson was shot to death on April 15 in the 1300 block of South Springfield Avenue. Davidson was wounded in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An arrest warrant was issued for Lofton after the slaying and he was taken into custody this week.
