Woman critically injured in hit-and-run accident on West Side

Police were searching for the driver of a vehicle that critically injured a 52-year-old woman in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Wednesday evening.
The incident happened at about 9 p.m. near the intersection of Lake Street and Pulaski Road.
The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Lake Street when the woman crossed Pulaski Road from the east side of the street to the west side of the street.
As the woman was crossing the street, the vehicle made a right turn onto Pulaski Road when the driver struck the woman.
The car, described as either gray or silver, fled the scene.
The woman sustained head damage and injuries to her legs and is listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital
