Man dies after weekend shooting

A man shot in the South Chicago neighborhood last weekend died from his wounds Thursday afternoon.

Dennis Jones, 22, was pronounced dead just before 7 p.m. Thursday at Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was taken after getting shot near 85th Street and Exchange Avenue about 2:30 a.m. on July 21.

Jones was walking when two people – possibly members of a rival gang – ran up on him from behind and started shooting
