2 women shot in Chatham

At about 11:30 p.m. a 19-year-old girl and 23-year-old woman were shot in the 7500 block of South Vernon Avenue. The 19-year-old was shot in the leg and is in serious condition at Christ medical center and the older woman, who was shot in the torso, is in serious condition at John H. Stroger Jr., Hospital of Cook County. The two were outside when they were shot by someone who approached on foot.
