Several arrested after gunfire exchange with cops

Several people were arrested after shots were exchanged with police in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.
At 11:05 p.m., police exchanged gunfire with people in the 300 block of East 117th Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
No one was hit, he said.
Several people were taken into custody, although he did not immediately know how many people were arrested or why the shooting occurred.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
