16-year-old boy shot in Brighton Park

An SUV pulled alongside another vehicle and someone inside the SUV opened fire, striking a 16-year-old boy in the other vehicle. The shooting happened about 3 a.m. just north of 40th Street on Western Avenue in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. The boy was shot in the thigh and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
