1 dead, 1 hurt after car slams into pole

A car slammed into a pole ealry this morning, leaving a 35-year-old man dead and another man hurt this morning in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.
The 35-year-old was a passenger inside a 2006 Lincoln that struck a pole in the 4800 block of South Damen Avenue at 12:25 a.m.
He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was pronounced dead.
The car’s driver, a 25-year-old man, was also taken to Stroger in an unknown condition.
