Authorities investigate after body found in Chicago River

A body was pulled from the South Branch of the Chicago River this afternoon in an industrial area near the Bridgeport neighborhood.
The body was found in the water at 3:54 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Corbett Street.
The unidentified male was dead on the scene after Deering District police officers responded and found it floating. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
The age of the victim was not known and a death investigation is under way.
