Man arrested after holding woman hostage on South Side

A man was arrested after he held a woman hostage in a South Side salon.
The incident began at about 7:25 p.m. when the man went into the salon on the 3100 block of south Archer Avenue.
After the man went into the salon he complained that he reportedly was owed money and took the woman hostage.
As the man and the woman were inside the salon police were called to the scene and eventually forced their way inside the business.
The man had tried to sexually assault the woman and the woman was taken to an area hospital for observation
