22-year-old shot dead in South Shore

At about 8:40 p.m., a 22-year-old was shot in the 6800 block of South Ridgeland Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the man as Darius Hartfield, of the 1600 block of East 67th Street.
Hartfield was sitting in his car when someone shot him in the upper body and leg, police said. He died about 10:45 p.m.
