Man shot in Englewood charged with New Year's Eve murder

A man shot in front of his Englewood home this week was arrested after police learned he was wanted for a New Year’s Eve homicide in the neighborhood.
Tony Head, 26, was shot about 1:55 a.m. Wednesday in the 5800 block of South Peoria Street. He was later charged with first-degree murder.
Police say Head shot 18-year-old Earl Warner in the 6000 block of South Green Street on Dec. 31. Warner was found sitting in a car with gunshot wounds to his neck.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital and pronounced dead an hour later, police said. A warrant was issued for Head's arrest.
