Gunman kills 1, fires on police, officers unhurt

A gunman fatally shot a man before opening fire on Chicago police officers Wednesday night in the South Side's Woodlawn community.
Police later arrested the suspected gunman who they believe was also wounded in the exchange with officers.
No officers were wounded in the 11:30 p.m. incident near East 63rd Street and South Martin Luther King Drive.
Grand Crossing District officers arrived to see the gunman firing at a 19-year-old, who was wounded in the back,. The shooter then opened fire on the officers, prompting them to return fire.
The 19-year-old victim was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead
