28-year-old man shot in Brainerd

A 28-year-old man standing with peers in the 9000 block of South Racine Avenue in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side was shot in the wrist and upper chest about 1:53 a.m.. He's in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Police said the victim was standing in the street talking when someone drove up in a car and started firing gunshots in his direction.
