17-year-old boy shot in Gresham

A 17-year-old boy was wounded late this morning in a drive-by shooting near a basketball court on the South Side in the city’s Gresham neighborhood.
About 11:55 a.m., police and paramedics were alerted to the shooting on the 8000 block of South Hoyne Avenue.
Preliminary reports stated a dark SUV pulled up and someone fired, striking the boy in his arm, leg, wrist and foot. The SUV then fled northbound on Damen Avenue.
The youth was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized
